The Big Move to Johnstone Terrace

Finally, after months of planning, applying and all the joys that go along with this, we are proud to announce that hanam's will be moving soon to a fantastic new location!
Our new Johnston Terrace premises will allow us to really show you what our Kurdish & Middle East food & culture is all about!
With a larger kitchen, we can provide many more delicious dishes. With our private dining area, we can accomodate all those parties we get bookings for, without having to turn away our regular customers.
With our additional 20 outside seats on Victoria Terrace, you can enjoy your meal in a relaxed and hopefully warm & sunny atmosphere!
Not to mention the fact that with the much larger space, Jamal and his staff can REALLY show off their dancing skills!
We have lots of exciting palns for this location, and we will keep you updated of our progress, so watch this space.

"Drive for charity cash adds extra spice to Capital curry nights
CURRY lovers will be able to raise money for charity while tucking into their favourite dishes.

A Kurdish restaurant in the Capital has launched the monthly fundraising curry nights, with all proceeds going to city charities. The first events, at Hanam's on Brougham Street, take place tonight and tomorrow, raising money for Mercy Corps.

Diners can enjoy a traditional three-course Kurdish banquet and a drink for £15, while also being entertained with music from a guest singer and Kurdish dancing from the restaurant owner, Jamal Ahmed.

Mr Ahmed, who was born and brought up in Halabja, Iraq, said: "I decided to set up charity nights because in my home town in Northern Iraq, myself and many others had to rely on help."

MONTHLY CHARITY EVENTS

As a result of various business & personal contacts, Hanam's have decided to hold a monthly charity event.

This would take the form of a special set meal, with information & a representative available for the charity as well as Hanam's giving you a discount voucher for your next meal.

Jamal has also promised to do some Kurdish dancing (not to be missed!!!) and we hope to have someone singing some tradtional Kurdish songs.

The events will mean you get to give a valuable donation to the charity, learn about the charity work as well as enjoying a great night out!
